Buried Treasure Blog Hop . . .

Hi everyone, today I`m excited to be taking part in
 " Buried Treasure "
 hosted annually by
Seth Apter from The Altered Page.
For the last 4 years bloggers around the world have been digging deep into past blog posts to find hidden  little gems to re- post and share . . . it can be one or more of your favourites.
Everyone taking part with be listed with links on Seth`s blog . . . sooo grab a cuppa with me and check out some inspiring blogs today!
Thank you Seth for letting me take part!!!

I have a few favourites to share with you today -
 Altered mannequin back in March.
This was a project for the Get Altered challenge and eTeam picks challenge at eclectic Paperie and one that I enjoyed sooo much . . . burnt fingers and all . . . made from tissue paper and fabric.
I showed a sneek peek on my blog not so long ago in  April
of my very first attempt at just letting go and not over thinking every step to creating a project -
Again this made me happy, messy and very paint splattered . . . bliss!!
This is how I feel about ART!
The last few months I have been trying to do what makes me happy in ART and trying not to worry what others will think or worrying will they like it - do what makes you happy!
If you know me you will know I love and adore very old books and using them for journaling,
here is one of my favourites of bygone memories with a pocket for hidden secrets back in August.
Covering blocks of wood in old book pages followed by inky/ painty goodness is a joy to do.
That house stamp is huuuuge and I LOOOVE IT!
I made this for the Susan K Weckesser design team, her stamps make my heart sing.
Lastly my first attempt at drawing She Art.
You can find the post HERE .

I hope you have enjoyed my journey into a few of my favourites and remember
Art is not a measure of skill but of Passion.

On looking over my past posts I can see how much I have changed and grown in being part of two brilliant design teams soooo thank you Kim Schofield and Susan K Weckesser for helping me along in the world of mixed media!!

The lovely Kim of eclectic Paperie is giving you the chance to win a prize package today, all you have to do is leave a comment here and on each of the following blogs below-

Happy hopping

Mixed Up Media Chix - Art Journal Blog Hop

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to . . .

 first blog hop!
About a month ago we got a little group of us together to do this fun Art Journal Blog Hop!
I haven`t been art journaling long but have come to love the freedom of sitting down and letting my imagination take over . . . not to mention the joy I have at the end when my hands are paint and ink splattered . . . Bliss!
If you arrived here from Rebecca`s blog then you are on the right path. If you have popped over for a visit and want to join in . . . then hop on over to Maria`s to set you on your way HERE.
With my creative mojo feeling that it has taken flight lately . . . what better way to get it back by creating a set of wings to find it again!
I took my very old but loved little raggedy car boot sale book and got started with the background.
Time to splodge some Gesso all over, spritz with some Smooch and Maya Mists, a little
Tim Holtz Distress Re Inkers along the top sprayed with water to make lovely drips down the pages and finishing with a little embossing powder in copper.
Time to start the wings ... snip, snip, snip ... one set of wings waiting on strips of fabric to be added.
Once dry, grab your heat tool and blast the material to give it a beautiful aged look and add Mica powders for more texture on the wings.
A fine black liner pen adds more detail to the wings. I have to tell you the words are
Tim Holtz Idea Ology Rubs - Words and I adore them, plus they fit this page so well.
My mojo has found it`s wings and is - Free To Fly, have courage, stand boldly, look within and so much more!
" SURPRISE !!! "
Before I head off I thought you might like to know that I have put together a surprise package full of goodies for one lucky commentor who leaves a message here.
You have until Monday night to leave a comment and winners will be announced on Tuesday!

    Imagination . . .

     Hello everyone,
Hope you are all having a good week so far!
Here is a little project I created for my design team day over at
another project you can all create with
     a sprinkling of imagination ...
    leftover scraps of pretty papers
paints, inks, stamps, embossing powders, stencils
    and a need to get
inky, paint splattered hands ... bliss!!
To get started I pulled out a box from my stash, full of scraps from
I was over the moon to find a 12x12 Color Burst Sheet not even touched ...woohoo ...which became my starting point, followed by scraps chopped up into house shapes complete with wonky tonky doors and chimneys.
Can you see how the background paper already has beautiful splats of color ...
I fixed the houses in place with Inkssentials Glossy accents and scribbled all around with a fine black liner pen.
    I do love to scribble!
I used Susan K Weckesser Inc/Crafters Workshop Stencil along with some Gesso for the numbers on the roofs.
More scribbles, blobs of white acrylic paint smudged around with my fingers, Tim Holtz Rub ons and cut out  hearts.
The chimneys are working .... see the puffs of smoke welcoming you home.
A little close up so that you can see the Smooch Spritz sprays I applied in various colors along with
    Pan Pastels.

along with  A Little Bit Washi stamps for added texture.
Not to mention more hearts cut from scraps, churning out those chimneys!
The little hickeldy pickeldy fence was drawn in with a pan pastel tool and smudged for a softer look all round and finished with UTEE and clear embossing powders for more touchy feely textures.
I will leave you with this little house called " Hope " along with one of the sentiments -

    embrace imperfections

It`s the imperfections that make us beautiful and unique!

    Till next time

    eTeams Pick Challenge . . .

    Happy Friday everyone,
Just stopping by with a little project I popped together for eclectic Paperie eTeam Picks Challenge hosted by the lovely and very talented Sherry and the theme this time is . . .
    Flowers
It`s Friday which means it`s time to link up with Friends with Flair over on Unity Stamp Co.
Check out all the inspiration over on these blogs...stunning!!
    I grabbed a few supplies from the eP Shop . . .
along with strips of material leftover from my wings  project, cardboard packaging and white Acrylic paint.
Sooooo easy to make this . . .
Just slather the white paint all over the cardboard
    { Impatient I am,so dried it with my trusty heat tool,lol }
Splodged the distress stains on my craft mat , spritzed with water and taking my brush flicked all over for splats of yummy color!
It was time to twist and roll the fabric into fat, fabulous flowers...
Fixed in place with my hot glue gun..owwww...yep I got burnt!!!
Added color with Tim Holtz Distress Stains in Fired Brick and Walnut Stain, mixing them with a little water first.
Chopping pretty paper to make the stems, a little doodle doodle doo was added with a fine liner.
More snipping of the material to make some leaves, coloring with more Distress Stains . . . can you tell how much I looove Distress Stains yet, lol!
    Hands up . . . I have a brand new looove to share with you all . . .
Pink Paislee -Christy Tomlinson Border rub ons . . . they are FABULOUS and so,so easy to apply!!
    You will looooooove them.
Amost forgot, I did add a little clear embossing powder in parts for added texture.

Fancy playing along . . . then just click HERE.

Well that`s all from me today.

    Time for Tea . . .

Update - I have really missed joining in with Unity Stamp co. Friends with Flair the last few weeks...soooo....I am going to link up theses two projects using
I am off to do some blog hopping for inspiration.
    Thanks for looking
    xoxo
Hi everyone, I am sooo excited to be combining two of my loves-
This week, our Susan K Weckesser team is partnering up for fun, color, and inspiration with Clearsnap, so make sure you check out both sites all week. And don’t forget to connect with our Facebook pages, too:
    • Anyone for afternoon tea?
I have popped together a whimsical paper mache tea cup and teaplate to share with you all using a few of my favourite things . . .
It all started with an empty Kelloggs Cornflake packet, old book pages and watered down pva glue...
. . . you can find a template and tutorial here from Ann Wood, will be trying this next time for sure.
I used a teacup to get a rough reference to make my base, chopping and sticking it all together . . . kinda rough and needs some love with stamps and inks galore!!
A quick coat of white Acrylic paint and a quick blast from my heat tool to speed things up.
Taking the stylus tool from Clearsnap, I applied fluid Chalk ink pads for the background.
Time to get stamping with Colorbox Wicked Black Archival ink pad and
the flower stamps from Create your Day by Susan K Weckkeser

Did I tell you yet how much I looove Smooch?
I Looove them, here is a peek at just a few I have used to color in the stamped images . . .
Don`t they look just delicious and they have the cutest names . . . Taffy, Lettuce, Sassy Pink . . .

It was looking a bit flat at this point, so out came some Smooch Spritz in various colors along with a few Jumbo sized ones . . . my heart sings when I use them!
I love how the Smooch Spritz brought it to life with bursts of color dotted around!
I used the same mix of ink pads and sprays for the teaplate, stamped and then coloured to tie it in with the tea cup.
Now if you have a cup of tea, then you have to have something to look at and as I adore
I got carried away and made this in my raggedy old book turned Art Journal, lol.
Spraying smooch Spritz to make my the background.
Inking up  The Happy Homestead and A Little Bit Washi with the Wicked Black Archival inkpad.
Applying the Watermark ink pad randomly to the page, sprinkling with Clear embossing powder and heating to give it a beautiful shine.
I took another sentiment from Create Your Day, stamped onto card, cut out and fixed in place to finish.
Whew, that`s all from me today
    but
be sure to head on over to the Clearsnap blog and My Sweet Earth blog to check out what else the teams have created.
    Happy Crafting
    Hugs
    XOXO
